Occupational Health and Safety is concerned with the safety, health, and welfare of people at work.

Work environments should be safe and healthy. Every day workers all over are faced with a multitude of health hazards falling within a number of categories.

Overall, efforts in occupational health and safety in NERHA are aimed to prevent accidents and occupational diseases through:

  • Promotion/maintenance of the highest degree of physical, mental and social well-being of workers
  • Prevention of ill health conditions or injuries caused by their working conditions
  • Protection of workers in their employment from risks resulting from factors adverse to health
  • Maintenance Of Equipment/ In an Occupational Environment adapted To His Physiological and psychological comfort and safety.

The type of control measures to be adopted depends on the type of hazard.

The PHIs are often charged with the responsibility to monitor workplaces so to identify, minimise and prevent risks in the occupational environment.
